What would you do if you stumbled upon a part of the internet that you shouldn’t be in? Or worse - you’re caught doing it?
Caught In The Web is a week-long game jam project under the theme “Hunter vs Prey”. As the head of the narrative, I and my team turned the brief into a psychological horror concept around the dangers of the internet.
You play as an unnamed young woman who, out of morbid curiosity, finds herself in a Red Room server watching a torture victim on the Dark Web. However, you weren’t careful enough with your online security, and now the kidnapper has your address…
Start Running
Now, with only 3 real-time minutes before you are caught, you must hurriedly pack everything you need to go on the run - passport, keys, phone, etc. You must also pack away anything that can lead someone to your loved ones, including family photos and mail slips.
In order to find everything, the player must complete puzzles, as well as find keys and passcodes, to unlock sections of the room that will lead you to more items you need to collect before the time runs out. However, due to issues with time, this more complicated puzzle-work was unable to be implemented in time.

Can you get everything you need to escape your hunter in time, and create a new identity for yourself? Or will you become the latest star of the show?
